Our Guarantee:
If an item is found to have a covered manufacturing defect, we will repair or replace the item at no cost to you. Items outside the stated warranty period will be individually assessed for repair or replacement costs.
Warranty Exclusions (Wear and Tear)
Our warranty does not cover damage resulting from normal use, accidents, misuse, or external factors after the jewelry has been received.
Examples of Issues NOT Covered:
- Scratches and Dents: All precious metals are soft and will show dents, scratches, and abrasions over time, particularly on ring settings and bands. This is normal wear and tear.
- Stone Damage: Chipping, scratching, or breaking of a gemstone caused by accidental impact or knocking. Even the hardest stones can be damaged when struck forcefully at a vulnerable point.
- Chemical Damage: Discoloration or corrosion caused by contact with household chemicals, makeup, or chlorine (e.g., from pools or hot tubs).
- Lost Stones: Loss of a gemstone that occurred because prongs or settings became bent or worn down due to friction from daily wear, rather than a structural fault.
- Damage caused by misuse, mistreatment, or theft.
Important: The warranty is immediately void if the jewelry has been repaired, resized, or altered by any jeweler other than Varali Jewelry. You must provide proof of purchase for all claims.
Claiming Your Warranty
If you believe your Varali Jewelry piece has a manufacturing defect, please follow these steps:
- Inspection at Pickup (Recommended): We strongly recommend that customers carefully inspect their jewelry at the time of pickup. If you notice any concerns, please raise them immediately so we can address them on the spot.
- Contact Us: Reach out via our contact form or call our Vaughan showroom to describe the issue. A team member will assist you with next steps and provide shipping instructions.
- Shipping Your Item: Customers are responsible for securely packaging and shipping their jewelry to our Vaughan showroom at their own expense. Please include:
- The jewelry item, securely packaged in its original box or equivalent protective packaging.
- A copy of the original invoice.
- Any accompanying stone certificates (if applicable).
We recommend using an insured and trackable shipping method, as Varali Jewelry is not responsible for loss or damage during transit. - Assessment Deposit: A $50 CAD deposit is required prior to assessment. This fee covers the return shipping and handling of your jewelry. The deposit must be submitted via e-transfer to the email address provided by our team at the time of claim initiation.
- Free Assessment: Our expert jewelers will perform a complimentary assessment to determine whether the issue qualifies as a manufacturing defect.
- Resolution:
- If the issue is covered under the manufacturing warranty, the repair or replacement will be completed at no charge.
- If the issue is not covered, we will provide a detailed repair quote. Should you choose not to proceed with the repair, the $50 deposit will cover the cost of return shipping to you.
Shipping Costs for Warranty Claims
- To Varali Jewelry: Customers are responsible for all shipping costs when sending their jewelry to our Vaughan showroom.
- From Varali Jewelry: Return shipping costs are covered by the $50 CAD assessment deposit, regardless of whether the repair is approved under warranty.
- Covered Defects: If the issue is confirmed as a manufacturing defect, the repair or replacement will be completed at no cost to you, and the $50 deposit will still be applied toward the return shipping.
General Policy Exceptions
A return or refund guarantee is not applicable if:
- You requested a service that was against the advice of Varali Jewelry or provided unclear instructions.
- You simply changed your mind after the purchase (e.g., found a cheaper price or decided you no longer want the item).
- Damage was caused by misuse or improper handling of the product.
Jewelry Care: Protecting Your Investment
Fine jewelry requires mindful care to maintain its brilliance and structural integrity. Protecting your Varali piece from damage ensures its lasting beauty.
Daily Wear Guidelines:
To prevent unnecessary wear, we strongly advise making the removal of your jewelry part of your routine. The best practice is: Put your jewelry on last when getting ready and take it off first when you get home.
When to Take Off Your Jewelry:
We recommend immediately removing your rings and other delicate pieces before engaging in any activity that involves physical contact or chemical exposure:
- High-Impact Activities: Remove jewelry before working out, playing sports, or engaging in any heavy lifting.
- Cleaning & Chores: Remove pieces before doing housework, gardening, or using cleaning products that contain harsh chemicals.
- Water Exposure: Avoid wearing jewelry in chlorinated pools, hot tubs, or while showering, as chemicals can dull the metal and compromise settings.
We highly recommend scheduling an annual jewelry assessment at our Vaughan showroom. Our jewelers will check your stone settings for security, and professionally clean and polish your piece, helping to preserve its original condition.
