Ring Size & Resizing Guide

At Varali Jewelry in Vaughan, Ontario, we believe every piece of jewelry deserves the perfect fit. This guide will help you accurately determine your ring size using the North American standard and understand our complimentary resizing policy.

Part 1: Finding Your Accurate Ring Size

Varali Jewelry follows the North American (U.S./Canadian) numerical sizing standard (e.g., Size 6, 6.5, 7).
To achieve the most precise measurement, consider the following tips:

Tip

Description

Time of Day

Fingers naturally change size throughout the day. Measure your finger in the evening when it is likely at its largest.

Temperature

Avoid measuring when your hands are very cold, as this may result in a smaller-than-actual measurement. Measure at room temperature.

Sizing Tolerance

The ring should be snug enough not to slip off, but loose enough to slide over your knuckle comfortably.

Home Sizing Methods

  1. Measuring an Existing Ring
Measure the inside diameter (the straight distance across the inner circle) of a ring that already fits the intended finger. Use the chart below to find the corresponding Varali size.
  2. String or Paper Method
Wrap a narrow strip of paper or non-stretchy string around the base of your finger. Mark where it overlaps, then measure the length in millimeters. Match this measurement to the chart below to find your size.

Part 2: Size Conversion Chart

Varali Jewelry uses the North American (U.S./Canadian) system for all orders.
If you know your size in another system, refer to this chart to find your equivalent Varali size.

Understanding the Systems

  • US / Canada: Uses numerical sizes (e.g., 7, 7.5).
  • UK / Australia: Uses letters and half-letters (e.g., M, M½).
  • European: Measured by the inside circumference of the ring in millimeters.
  • Japan: Uses a numerical system based on the inner diameter.

If you’ve measured your finger in millimeters, refer to the “Inside Circumference” column to find your corresponding Varali size.

First Resizing

One complimentary resizing is available for all eligible engagement rings and wedding bands.

Must be requested within one year from the date of receipt or in-store pickup.

Exclusions (Rings Not Eligible for Resizing)

Due to design and structural limitations, certain rings cannot be resized and will require a full remake if a different size is needed:

  • Full Eternity Rings (stones set around the entire band)
  • Tension-Set Rings (stones held solely by metal pressure)
  • Certain Custom or Complex Designs, including intricate engravings, mixed metals, or unusual size ranges (below size 4 or above size 10)

If your ring falls under an exclusion, we will confirm this before finalizing your order.

Resizing Fees

  • After Complimentary Period: Resizing fees start at $100 CAD, depending on the metal, design, and required adjustment.
  • Subsequent Resizes: Each additional resize after the first complimentary one will incur the applicable resizing fee.
  • Mail-In Resizing Requests: Customers are responsible for all shipping charges (both to and from Varali). We recommend using a secure, trackable, and insured courier service.
  • Local Drop-Off & Pick-Up: Customers near Vaughan may drop off and pick up their rings in person at no charge to avoid shipping costs.
